South Shore Park Shoreline Revetment

Edgerton Contractors, Inc. contracted with Milwaukee County to upgrade the Lake Michigan Shoreline Revetment along a half mile of lakeshore south of downtown. Services included excavation into the lake bottom, placement of several layers of revetment stone, construction of fishing piers, and construction of a bike and pedestrian path.

This was the first project performed by Edgerton on which GPS technology was utilized to excavate into the lake bottom then place revetment stone, some as large as seven tons. Grading and stone placement was documented to a tolerance of one tenth of a foot, then e-mailed directly from the site to the design engineer in Madison, Wisconsin for verification.
