Oak Creek Bluff Stabilization

Formerly the site of various manufacturing and industrial plants, the bluff at the terminus of Ryan Road at Lake Michigan in Oak Creek, Wisconsin was eroding badly, endangering neighboring properties and potentially infringing on the revetment at Bender Park.

The property owner, the DuPont Corporation, contracted with Edgerton Contractors, Inc. to construct a new stone revetment for shoreline protection. Upon completion of the revetment, the bluff was laid back from its eroded condition to a more stable slope. Downslope drainage features as well as a groundwater collection system were also installed.
