Canal Street – City of Milwaukee

With the Menomonee Valley becoming a viable development area, the City of Milwaukee decided to rebuild and extend Canal Street from the east end of the valley and connect it with the Miller Park Complex.

Edgerton Contractors, Inc. contracted for construction of this new roadway through territory that wasn’t so virgin. The site has been an industrial and manufacturing center for nearly 150 years and much of the new right-of-way required environmental remediation prior to construction. The scope of work included grading, bridge demolition, retaining wall construction, and remediation and disposal of contaminated soils.
