We Energies Beach Nourishment Project

When We Energies extended the revetment further into Lake Michigan in front of its Oak Creek Power Plant, it deterred from the natural southern flow of sand along the Lake Michigan shoreline. The State of Wisconsin mandated that replacement sand be placed on the beach south of the power plant.

Edgerton Contractors, Inc. was hired to place 80,000 tons of sand onto the beach while creating minimal disturbance to the bluff. A conveyor truck was utilized to complete the sitework and high marks were received from the owner and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
